What Is Bac Water? Bacteriostatic Water Explained

Bac water is short for bacteriostatic water: sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol added. The benzyl alcohol slows bacterial growth, so a vial can be opened more than once. Plain sterile water has no preservative and is meant for one use.

Why it matters for research peptides

Peptides ship as a dry powder because they keep longer that way. In the lab, the powder is mixed with a liquid before use, and bac water is the usual choice.
